Capture the Castle

CAPTURE THE CASTLE will showcase over 20 contemporary artists’ response to the theme of castles - some artists are local while others are from further afield. The exhibition has been curated by Tim Craven and Simon Dorrell.
The story will span from Iron Age hill forts to Gothic Revival castles of the 19th century. Although united by the subject, the artists employ a diverse range of idea and style. Media will include prints, drawings, paintings, embroidery, photography and glass.
The participating artists are: Graham Arnold, Tim Craven, Simon Dorrell, Diana Craven, Fiona McIntyre, Peter Davies, Robert Amesbury Brooks, Peter Jarvis, Pauline Bullard, William Vaughan, Nick Schlee, Howard Phipps, Richard Bavin, Annie Ovenden, Tamsin Abbott, Nick de Serra, Gareth Rees-Roberts, Kate Cochrane, Alison Woodhouse, Lois Hopwood, Owen Rimington, Guy Lester, Ciara Lewis, Shelagh Popham, Alison MacGregor Grimley and Susannah Royle.
The exhibition is open throughout h.Art week from 10th–18th September, 11am–5pm each day. Admission free.
How to find St Michael's Church, Discoed:
Leave Presteigne heading west on the B4356. After 1 mile take minor road (straight on) signposted Cascob. Continue for 1 mile. Church approach is up on left after Discoed sign.
