Old and New:
Towards the end of May a very contemporary exhibition of ceramics will be found in an ancient rural shepherd’s church sheltered by a 5000 year old yew.

The tiny church of St Michael's, Discoed, on the Welsh Borders acts as a both a spiritual and artistic hub to the local and wider community.  The Friends of St Michael’s have gained a strong reputation for putting on high quality arts events including concerts, literary events plus art exhibitions.

The exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity to appreciate the rich, diverse and imaginative world of contemporary ceramics, set within the contemplative space of the ancient nave of St Michael's, Discoed. This fourth Contemporary Ceramics at Discoed exhibition features some of the most eminent ceramic artists and makers from all over the country and showcases a wide range of ceramic forms, techniques and finishes. Expect hand-built sculptural works, refined wheel-thrown domestic ware, porcelain, raku, slip decoation and more.
