New Arts Bursary for Shropshire

A new arts bursary is open, to fund a young Shropshire artist to carry out further vocational training or acquire materials for their chosen speciality.
The bursary is open to anyone who has been secondary school or college educated within a 20-mile radius of Shrewsbury, and is between the ages of 18 and 28 on 1 January 2017.
£2000 is available and should be used within 12 months of the bursary being awarded.
A typical applicant might be considering or already have completed an Arts Foundation course or degree and would like the opportunity to specialise in an arts related field. This could be any branch of the Arts including work in conservation, furniture design, picture restoration, book binding, textiles, stonemasonry or museum curatorial work.
All applications will be judged by a committee and the process may include an interview. The recipient would be expected to provide a report or give a presentation on completion of the project.
Application forms can be downloaded here.
Closing date for applications is 1 March2017.
For further information, contact Briony Cooper: brionycooper@talktalk.net mobile: 07811 532967
The bursary is offered by the Shrewsbury Decorative and Fine Arts Society
