Pictures from Two Rivers Paper demo and talk

Many thanks to Neil Hopkins of Two Rivers Paper, who travelled all the way from Somerset to explain how paper is made, show us the materials involved, actually make some paper, and explain how various media work on different kinds of paper, particularly with regard to the sizing used.

Here's a link to their website: http://www.tworiverspaper.co.uk/

That's it for this year - we're starting again in February with a talk on Chinese brush painting!

  1. Last Thursday's presentation was a great way to end the winter programme. Neil Watkins demo of how Two Rivers is made was fascinating. Some members left with armfuls of samples to try so we'll be seeing the results no doubt in our spring show.

I was impressed a paper which lets you wash off strong staining pigments ike Pthalo Blue and Alizarin Crimson has to be good.
