Hallowe'en Spotlight - Dark Classics

This seems an appropriate offering for the time of year - the Dark Classics blog, featuring macabre artwork from the past. Burne-Jones, Rackham, Durer, Bosch, Munch and Dore are present, but they're only a small selection of the artists you can find here.

  1. I'm still a bit afraid of the dark Sam. After the Magritte show the 'The Alice in Wonderland' Exhibition at Tate Liverpool is as close as I get to dreams and nightmares. Painters like Dali had a go at interpreting the surreal aspects of the Alice story and I rather like the etchings he did as book illustrations.
